چکیده

The removal of inorganic arsenic (As) species from water using bone char pyrolyzed at 900 °C was investigated. Results revealed that the Sips model resulted in best As(III) experimental data fit, while As(V) were represented by Langmuir model. adsorption rate and mechanisms both As investigated kinetic diffusional models, respectively. At low concentrations 0.5 2.5 mg/L, due to intra-particle interactions pore diffusion following Pseudo-first-order kinetics. However, higher 5 10 mechanism ineffective, described Pseudo-second-order Elovich models. goodness fit linearized nonlinear forms all models against thoroughly tested error function analysis. Nonlinear regressions produced lower values, so they utilized calculate parameters changes surface chemistry examined FTIR Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Arsenic oxide complexes with metals confirmed immobilized on bone-char surface. To authors’ knowledge, this study is first attempt analysis char.
